Spotlight on STEM Experience in California

One of the most popular subject areas teachers ask us about at Libertas Travel is STEM. For an incredible variety of immersive educational experiences in the area of science and technology, the USA is a destination like no other.

Designing your group’s STEM itinerary to the USA can feel overwhelming, with so many options across such a large country. We recommend California is a natural starting point. San Francisco serves not only as an air travel gateway to North America, but as an incredible STEM destination with activities including:

  • The prolific California Academy of Sciences, where students can feel the ground shake in the earthquake simulator, explore the Living Roof and see thousands of animal specimens on display.

  • The award-winning Exploratorium offers countless interactive exhibits to challenge how we view the world.

  • On an excursion to Silicon Valley, students can tour the Computer History Museum and the Intel Museum, to witness how technology has evolved over time.

  • Challenge your students at the Tech Interactive with a hands-on lab class. Students can harness the laws of physics to design their own rollercoaster or test their hand at civil engineering to devise ways of keeping the Bay Area’s waterways clean.

At your request, Libertas Travel can also arrange a coding workshop for your group. All materials are provided, and each session is facilitated by an experienced instructor. A range of workshop themes is available, including game design, prompt engineering, and data analysis. Students will work with AI tools and coding languages such as Python and SQL through practical, real-world applications.

Libertas Travel works with individual teachers and schools to custom design a tour that suits your needs and requirements. Contact us today to start the planning process.
