From Classical Foundations to Modern Conflict

TOKYO ┃ HIROSHIMA ┃ FUKUOKA

Embark on a study tour of Japan designed specifically for history educators who want to deepen their understanding of Japanese history by visiting the places where it happened.

Moving from Tokyo through Hiroshima to Fukuoka, this programme traces Japanese history from Yayoi-period state formation and classical court culture through the Meiji transformation to the Pacific War and post-war reconstruction.

The tour will be led by experienced teacher and creator of ‘History Skills’, Michael Cocks. By visiting key historical sites firsthand, teachers will connect syllabus content with place, which will enrich both their subject knowledge and their classroom practice.
