Tour Highlights
In and around Broken Hill, explore visual art, sculpture and rock art capturing the essence of the outback. Explore mining history and Mad Max moviemaking. Star-gaze with astronomers.
Learn about the river and lake systems of the Menindee Lakes from European and Indigenous perspectives.
Explore the dry lakebed of Lake Mungo, and 50,000 years of human habitation. Learn about the archeological discoveries of Mungo Man and Mungo Lady.
Explore the busy provincial city of Mildura. Get hands on at fruit, grape and almond farms, undertake community service, and experience the mighty Murray River by paddle-steamer.
Discover the sights and sounds of a working wool shed at Hay’s Shearers Hall of Fame and kayak the Murray.
Learn about irrigation water management, agricultural sustainability and food technologies. Visit an irrigated farm to see how cotton is grown and processed.
