This tour immerses students in the language, history and culture of Japan – from the vibrant streets of Tokyo and ancient temples of Kyoto, to the moving memorials of Hiroshima and the lively atmosphere of Osaka.
Along the way, students engage in hands-on cultural experiences and explore sites that reveal Japan’s rich traditions, resilience and innovation.
Day 1
Depart Australia ⤑ Arrive in Tokyo
Tokyo
Visit the exciting neighbourhoods of Tokyo city centre. Participate in a sushi making workshop and Taiko drumming class. Learn about the city’s history at important museums and shrines.
Day 2-4
Kyoto
Travel by Shinkansen to Kyoto. Visit its stunning temples, learn about the Geisha tradition and visit the ancient capital of Nara.
Day 5-7
Hiroshima
Continue on train to Hiroshima. Enjoy a traditional Okonomiyaki dinner. Tour Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Visit the lovely island of Miyajima.
Day 8-9
Osaka
Travel to Osaka and visit its famous castle. Option to visit Universal Studios.
Day 10
Day 11-12
Depart Osaka⤑ Arrive in Australia
