Your On-Tour Academic Expert

- Marilyn Pretorius

Marilyn Pretorius

I have been teaching English for too many years to mention. I retain my passion through my love of literature and the lessons writers from all over the world convey about love and life.

To impart some of this wisdom to young people is, to me, the greatest gift. To teach young people the joy to be found in English literature is a bonus. Over many years of teaching, I have acquired a depth of knowledge that I could only dream of when I was very young and discovered reading.

I am particularly interested in the therapy literature can provide to troubled souls, and how literature can help. I am a dedicated educator and very interested in teaching gifted students and to this end participated in a research project which resulted in a publication in 1999 titled: Gifted students in secondary schools: differentiating the curriculum / Miraca U.M. Gross, Bronwyn Sleap, Marilyn Pretorius
